I was a part of a team of designers who have been chosen to brand the 2016 Orange International Street Fair, an annual event celebrating different cultures and non-profits which has over a million people in attendance every year. At its core, the Street Fair unites citizens of Orange County and Southern California to virtually travel the world by trying new and exotic cuisines. We call these friends who try new foods together “taste buds,” hence the title. The design features a bright color palette along with illustrated monuments throughout the world that are not too childish, as that was a complaint with previous designs. We created posters, t-shirts, banners, information booklets, a map, a website, snapchat filers, wayfinders, and photowall. Each country has its own banner. As they move away from the center of the fair, the posters’ color palette changes to later in the day. For example, Germany is the in the center of the fair, so it is day time. Meanwhile, England is towards the outskirts of the fair and is night time. Our banners will be used for the next three years to come, resulting in almost three-million impressions.
